The Village of Brown Deer is blessed with visionary leadership and community spirit. The Brown Deer Foundation has been an effective channel to transform ideas and energy into reality.
A 501(c)(3) organization governed by a board of 11 directors from the community, the Foundation has supported:
- Brown Deer Historical Society
- Park and Recreation Department (Brown Deer Pond, Sports Facilities, Park Shelter Enclosure, Youth Programs, Bike Path, Band Concerts, Brown Deer Citizens Club)
- Brown Deer School District
- Dean School Soccer Field
- Beautification Committee
- 4th of July Committee
- Library
- Brown Deer Police Dept. (D.A.R.E. Funds, K9 Program, Special Youth Officer training)
- North Shore Fire Dept. (Equipment and Supplies, Fire Safety Education)
- North Shore Health Dept. (Immunizations, Teen Education, AIDS Awareness, Parenting Workshops).

It’s not too soon to start thinking about the 2011 Deer Run. The Deer Run will be held on April 30, 2011. Race starts at 9:00 am, with pre-race staging at Village Park. Both the 5K and 10K courses will be run through residential neighborhoods within Brown Deer. Advance Registration is $20 and is now accepted online at ZapEvent. Click here to register for the Deer Run. Race day registration is also available, however, race day registration is $28 for everyone.
